There are a lot of fine dining establishments in town, but these might not be the most appropriate places to bring the kids. But there are also plenty of places that are family friendly and might save you a buck or two.

Obviously, pizza is a fan favorite for the kiddos. There are plenty of places to try! Grotto Pizza is on the corner of Reed & Highway 1. They even have an allergy chart, so family members avoiding gluten, dairy, nuts or other allergens can enjoy a meal out.

Woody’s Dewey Beach Bar & Grill is another great option for the whole family. Kids menu items are just $5 and include the drink and fries. Entrees range from fried shrimp to peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

The Best Dining in Dewey

If you are going to treat yourself to something special, here are a couple suggestions:

Henlopen City Oyster House

It’s heralded as the number one seafood spot in Dewey (always a highly fought for recognition in coastal areas). But you can still enjoy comfort food like lobster mac ‘n’ cheese if that’s more your speed. Since they don’t take reservations, you need to factor in some wait time.

Executive Chef Hari Cameron is a molecular gastronomy genius. This restaurant is award winning and so is Chef Cameron. After 10 p.m., when most restaurants are closing, you are likely to meet the other local chefs from town here. That’s always a good sign.
