Three businesses owned by the same family. Their goal? To make sure your family has the best time out on the water.
The Delaware Beaches is a peculiar place. For half the year, the towns along the Delaware coast are small and sleepy. Almost like they’re hibernating, waiting for the summer. When Memorial Day hits, boom! These towns get saturated with people eager to experience all the beauty and activities the Delaware Beaches have to offer.
The owners of Dewey Beach Parasail, Dewey Beach Watersports and Crab Claw Adventures love this cyclic rotation. They love the summer vibe and the visitors who come swarming to their shores. Their goal is to the introduce families to the water activities they offer. They love when beginners or those inexperienced and unsure try them out. Most end up loving them, and returning year after year. It starts to feel like family.
Each business is family oriented and fun. But each business offers a unique experience.
Crab Claw Adventures
Crab claw takes you and your family for a two-hour adventure out on a coast guard inspected vessel. This is a great experience for kids who have never been out on a boat before. A fishing trip requires patience. But crabbing is very easy and the rewards are instant. It doesn’t take a lot of time, and the crabs are always biting. Some families even make a competition out of who can catch the most crabs. After they’re caught, crabs are returned to the water. This teaches both children and adults about sustainability of the bay
Dewey Beach Parasail
Parasailing is an experience that you and your kids will never forget. Imagine seeing the Delaware Beaches at their best advantage, from the air. Two to three people can go up at a time. So if kids are nervous, they can go up with their parents. This activity is recommended for children over six years of age. But no experience is necessary! So if you’re six or 86, Dewey Beach Parasail welcomes you!
Dewey Beach Watersports
Vacations are a perfect time to learn new activities. The Delaware Beaches are the perfect place to learn water activities. And Dewey Beach Watersports is the place to go to make that happen. Absolutely no experience is necessary! Learn to kayak or paddleboard. Take off on a jet ski or pontoon boat. DB Watersports provides pre-ride informational sessions to give you skills, information, charts and maps to make sure you feel comfortable out on the water.
Advice from the experts…
The owners of Crab Claw Adventures, Dewey Beach Parasail and Dewey Beach Watersports want you to have the best time possible. Here are a few tips from the pros to enjoy all the activities they offer to the fullest.
BE SAFE — The owners want to make sure that everyone has a safe time. That’s why they go over all information needed, and meet all the state and federal regulations. They also have guides on the water so they can deal with any issues right away.
DON’T BE INTIMIDATED — If this is your first time, don’t let fear intimidate you! The goal of these businesses is to protect you from a bad first experience so you will want to do them again and again.
DON’T WAIT TO BOOK A RESERVATION — They recommended that you book your reservation before you arrive. During the busy summer months, they are often booked to capacity, so plan these activities ahead of time.
DON’T PLAN YOUR VACATION AROUND THE WEATHER — If you look at the weather report for the Delaware Beaches, and you see rain, chances are you may not want to book your parasailing adventure or your jet skis. But the expert says that weather here is so changeable. On a day with 80% chance of rain, the sun might still be shining. The owners watch the weather in real time, not on the weather channel. If there is a storm, they can reschedule your plans.
ALL SKILL LEVELS WELCOME — Whether this is your first time on a jet ski or you’ve done these activities before, they welcome the whole spectrum.
YOUR GREAT EXPERIENCE IS THEIR PRIORITY — From the first time you speak to an employee, to the day of your water adventure, the owners want you to experience unparalleled customer service. They know you’re spending your hard earned money with them, so they want you to feel like you get the most bang for your buck.
COME BEFORE NOON — Most people want to plan their water activities after lunch time, so afternoons are quickly filled to capacity. But mornings typically have the best weather and water conditions. You might even get to see more wildlife. There are also great discounts if you come before noon.
