If you’re visiting Lewes during the Fourth of July, you won’t want to miss the annual tradition of the Old Fashioned 4th of July in Lewes.

Lewes Old Fashioned 4th of July

This long-standing tradition in the City of Lewes continues. Enjoy an old-fashioned Fourth of July celebration with games, parades, and fireworks.

The day begins with old-fashioned children’s games on Second Street. The whole street will be closed and filled with games that all ages will enjoy.

On the water, the Lewes Independence Day Boat Parade will be floating down the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal to Fisherman’s Wharf. Parade judges will be awarding a grand prize trophy, along with first, second and third place ribbons for the best boats.

After the Boat Parade is the one-of-a-kind Doo-Dah Parade. Beginning near Lloyd’s Market on Savannah Road, this parade will head down Kings Highway to Second Street and end back near Lloyd’s Market. Everyone is invited to attend and participate in the parade.

The day ends with a spectacular firework display from a barge off Lewes Beach. These dazzling fireworks can be seen from the Roosevelt Inlet to Cape May-Lewes Ferry terminal.

Rehoboth Beach Fireworks

Celebrate the Fourth of July with Fireworks

There are so many ways to celebrate the Fourth of July in Rehoboth Beach. Whether you spend the day at the beach, grilling from your Rehoboth Beach rental property or simply strolling along the boardwalk, July 4 offers plenty of summer fun. One of the most popular ways to pay tribute to America’s independence is by taking in an eye-catching firework display on the beach.

Rehoboth Beach Fireworks

The City of Rehoboth Beach will celebrate Independence Day with a firework display on Wednesday, July 3. Starting around 9:30 p.m., Zambelli Fireworks will light up the sky. These fireworks are launched from the southern part of the beach from Rehoboth Avenue but will be visible all along the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk and beach.

The evening begins at 8 p.m. with a performance by The Funsters at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand. The Funsters will perform after the fireworks as well.

Rehoboth Beach Parking

This is expected to be a large event, so early arrival is recommended. The city advises travelers to take advantage of the DART PARK &RIDE to travel downtown.

The Jolly Trolley will also be operating the Rehoboth Beach and Dewey Beach shuttle services. The route will take riders to/from the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand and to/from South Dewey Beach at Dickinson Street.

Parking will be available at the North Rehoboth Deauville Beach lot for $5. Metered parking spaces can also be found around town.
